Privacy Policy

Last updated: Oct 7, 2025

Welcome to Antidote (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you visit our website, make a purchase, or interact with us in any way.

We follow the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) of British Columbia and all applicable federal and provincial privacy laws. If you purchase regulated products (such as cannabis) through our site or participate in BC’s Direct Delivery program, additional rules apply — and we comply with those, too.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect the personal information we need to provide our services safely and legally. That may include:

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses

  • Age and ID verification: proof of legal age (for regulated products)

  • Payment information: credit card or payment service details (processed securely through third-party providers)

  • Order details: products purchased, delivery preferences, and notes

  • Technical information: IP address, browser type, device info, and cookies used to operate and secure our website

  • Communications: any messages or feedback you send us

  • Marketing preferences: your choice to receive (or not receive) promotional emails

We do not collect more information than necessary for the purposes described below.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to provide you with safe, reliable, and compliant service. Specifically, we may use it to:

  • Process and deliver your orders

  • Verify age and identity as required by law

  • Handle secure payments and refunds

  • Provide customer service and respond to inquiries

  • Maintain website functionality, security, and analytics

  • Send you updates or promotions (only if you’ve opted in)

  • Comply with laws, regulations, and licensing conditions

  • Prevent fraud, misuse, or unauthorized access

We will never use or share your personal information for purposes unrelated to these unless you consent or the law requires it.

3. Direct Delivery Compliance

Because Antidote participates in BC’s Direct Delivery cannabis program, we follow all requirements set out by the Liquor and Cannabis Regulation Branch (LCRB). This includes:

  • Age verification: Deliveries are made only to customers of legal age (19+ in BC) with valid ID.

  • Secure transport: Products are packaged and transported so they cannot be seen or tampered with.

  • Authorized locations: Orders are fulfilled only from the licensed facility they were placed from.

  • Delivery logs: We maintain accurate records of all deliveries and verify customer information as required.

  • Delivery hours: Deliveries occur only during permitted hours (9 a.m. – 11 p.m.).

  • Third-party couriers: If we use a courier, we ensure they follow all LCRB rules for age verification and privacy.

Your information is used only for lawful purposes related to these requirements.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. However, we may share limited information with trusted third parties in specific cases, such as:

  • Service providers (like payment processors, IT providers, or couriers) who help us operate our business.

  • Regulatory bodies or law enforcement if required to comply with laws or court orders.

  • Business transfers if Antidote is sold or merged, provided the new owner upholds the same privacy standards.

  • Aggregated data that does not identify individuals, for analytics or reporting purposes.

All third parties are required to handle your information securely and in accordance with privacy laws.

5. Consent and Opt-Out

We will always get your consent before collecting, using, or sharing your personal information — except in limited cases where the law allows otherwise.

You can:

  • Withdraw your consent for marketing communications at any time using the “unsubscribe” link in our emails.

  • Ask us to stop using your information for certain purposes (though this may affect our ability to provide services).

By providing your information or using our website, you consent to the uses described in this policy.

6. Access and Correction

You have the right to access and correct your personal information.

You can contact us at any time to:

  • Request a copy of the information we hold about you

  • Ask for corrections or updates

  • Learn who we’ve shared your information with

  • Understand how your information has been used

We’ll respond within the time limits required by BC’s privacy law. If we can’t fulfill your request, we’ll explain why.

7. Retention and Disposal

We only keep personal information as long as it’s needed for legal, regulatory, or operational purposes. When it’s no longer required, we securely delete, anonymize, or destroy it so it can’t be linked back to you.

8. Security

We use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.

If a security breach occurs that creates a real risk of harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC as required by law.

9. Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use cookies or similar tools to improve your browsing experience and help us understand how people use our site.

You can control or disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features of the site may not function properly without them.

10. Links to Other Websites

Our website may link to third-party websites (like payment processors or partner retailers). We’re not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so we recommend reviewing their policies before sharing personal information.

11. Minors

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the legal age of majority (19 in BC). If we learn we’ve received information from a minor, we will delete it immediately.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect new laws, technologies, or business practices. When we make changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of our site after changes are posted means you accept the revised policy.
